Drought Status (Drought Alert Level: Orange)

  1. Afghanistan, China, Islamic Republic of Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan: Drought is ongoing.
  2. Algeria, Morocco: Drought is ongoing.
  3. Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay: Drought is ongoing.
  4. Belize, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, El Salvador: Drought is ongoing.

Tropical Cyclone Status

  1. Orange Alert for Tropical Cyclone SIX-23:Affected Country: Japan (Vulnerability: Low) From July 27, 2023, to July 27, 2023, a tropical depression named SIX-23 with a maximum wind speed of 213 km/h was active in the Northwest Pacific. An estimated population of 12.96 million is affected by Category 1 (120 km/h) wind speeds or higher.
  2. Red Alert for Tropical Cyclone DOKSURI-23:Affected Countries: Philippines, China (Vulnerability: Medium) From July 21, 2023, to July 27, 2023, a hurricane/typhoon with wind speeds exceeding 74 mph (maximum wind speed of 241 km/h) named DOKSURI-23 was active in the Northwest Pacific. An estimated population of 185.3 million is affected by Category 1 (120 km/h) wind speeds or higher.
